Commercial Duct Cleaning for Kitchen Extract Systems
Ductwork is the part of a kitchen extract system nobody sees and most quotes skip. Grease accumulates along its whole length inside a sealed metal channel that passes through walls and floors, which is why a duct fire travels in a way a canopy fire does not. BlueTick cleans grease-bearing kitchen extract ductwork to the BESA TR19 Grease standard: surveying the run from canopy to discharge point, supplying and fitting BESA-specification access panels where there are none, measuring grease depth in microns at named points before and after, cleaning back to the metal through those panels, and stating plainly on the certificate which sections were reached and which were not. Ductwork is cleaned on the same visit as the canopy, filters and extract fan, because grease left in the fan finds its way back into clean duct. Cleaning intervals follow BESA guidance by cooking hours per day: every 3 months for heavy use, every 6 months for moderate use, every 12 months for light use. We do not clean air conditioning, air handling units or general ventilation ductwork under TR19 Air — that is a separate competency and we will say so rather than take the work. Call 07840 992 246.
